Projects and Teams

The Climate Savers Computing Initiative @ U-M leverages volunteer teams comprised of faculty, staff, and students to execute its mission. The associated projects and teams will energize and educate the 47+ units on campus.

There are nine distinct project teams working together to implement change:

• Data Center/Server Room
• Unit Funding
• Green IT Achievement Program
• IS IT Green
• Power Down for the Planet Challenge
• e-Waste Recycling Events
• Planet Blue Support

Desktop Technologies, Data Center/Server Room, and Awareness teams lay the project’s foundation by providing key elements for change. The Unit Funding, Department Certification, IS IT Green, and Planet Blue Support teams expand our impact. The Power Down for the Planet Challenge and e-Waste Recycling Events lead the way!

All volunteers are working to make green IT practices a vital part of U-M culture and to act as liaisons in their own departments.
